When should you hire a bookkeeper?
I get this question a lot. Here are some questions to answer to help you figure that out.
Do you enjoy bookkeeping?
Are you in your QBO file every week categorizing transactions?
Are you reconciling your checking, savings and credit card statements every month?
Are you pulling your Profit & Loss statement and reviewing how much you made in the past month?
If the answer to these questions is no, then next you should take a look at your net profit. That's your revenue or income minus your expenses. Can you afford to pay someone $250+ (the monthly amount will depend on various factors but this is the lowest package we have currently) to take the bookkeeping tasks off your plate so that you can devote your time to working on building your business?
Maybe you don't know what the numbers are right now so next questions:
Do you have another source of income currently? Maybe you have a W2 job and/or your partner has income so you aren't pressed to make a profit right now and would like to just take this task off your list?
Do you always file an extension and then scramble in the last few days trying to get everything together for your tax preparer? Would you rather not do that next year?
Some recommend that you are making $40,000 profit before hiring a professional bookkeeper, but if you aren't doing your bookkeeping, and have enough income to delegate this task, schedule your free 30-Minute Discovery Meeting and let's just chat about the possibilities.
